How those four arguments can be correlated? Here after an explanation about the last good news.

Today in Italy a regulation is establishing that for all public works whom the foreseen cost in the bidding documents is higher than 2m € the design must be done by using the digital technology BIM (Building Information Modelling). Anyway, in all modern countries this kind of technology is used even without a special law. It is matter of design patterns modernisation and the designers are prone to use these new systems in their own projects.

Plastitalia started to work with BIM libraries many years ago and now it can be surely listed among the most advanced Companies in this special field. Our BIM library is one of the most complete in the world about PE system components (fittings, pipes, etc.), test them to believe. Many special features are connected to the BIM object and make the designer work easy.  

Since the BIM philosophy is about the creation of projects without errors (or at least to minimize them as much as possible…) a question should arise in the real world: “how we can be sure that BIM objects’ contents are reliable?”.

The answer to this question is in the standard UNI 11946 – Coding criteria of technical information for thermoplastic piping systems for their use as building products in Building Information Modeling (BIM). This standard has specified a nomenclature for plastic piping components and has established the minimum information that shall be integrated into the BIM object. It is clear that any information that is part of the BIM object must be correct, conversely any error in the BIM object will be an error in the project and this is exactly what the BIM philosophy wants to avoid.

Plastitalia’s BIM library is the first one in Italy that has been independently checked by a third party Certification Organisation (Bureau Veritas) and this means that any information alphanumeric, geometric and documentary linked to any object is correct.

This is an unbelievable target that we have achieved, and it is the premium for the great effort made by the Plastitalia people involved in the BIM management.

Designers can download and use our BIM objects with the insurance that the PE piping systems they design are free from products errors… a big leap in construction works.
