Method and certifications
Plastfast brings DVS 2207 certified methods to the welding of electrofusion fittings. These methods were already established for contact heating processes. The system also introduces new cooling parameters adjusted to ambient temperature.
Lower ambient temperatures allow faster welding processes. Plastfast technology, for which a patent application has been filed, validates new cooling times and applies them to its products.
Ambient temperature
Plastfast relates the cooling period of electrofusion fittings directly to the surrounding temperature.
Using advanced digital electronics, Plastitalia performed extensive measurements and calibrations of fitting cooling periods at different ambient temperatures to establish new cooling times.
Welding and control
For the first time, a combined fitting and control-unit system can determine the actual weld cooling period according to ambient temperature.
New software in the I Plast 105f, I Plast 60f and I Plast 30f control units makes it possible to reduce cooling times for Plastfast fittings up to 355 mm in diameter.
Plastfast enables safe system testing: the I Plast 105f, I Plast 60f and I Plast 30f units indicate how long to wait after welding before carrying out a test.
